MEMORIES OF BRAZIL: The Rio Carnival

Image
This brings back some memories of my time at the Rio Carnival.  Rio de Janeiro is certainly worth visiting at any time, but with this you get extra fun with the numerous parades. Here are some of my other photos which I took during the Celebrations.

PLAYA DE ORO Arrived very late, almost at midnight, and grabbed a taxi from Varadero Airport,                         and headed to the Playa de Oro Resort complex. It was a very welcoming environment,             and very soon I was settled in my room.  On the table was a warm welcome sign, a bottle           of Cuba rum, two cans of beer and two soft drinks. Too late to join the party, I decided             to have a quick look around the resort, and then crashed into bed, after all it was a very           long American Airlines flight all the way from London UK. https://www.lonelyplanet.com/cuba http://www.varaderoguide.net/index.html http://www.varadero-airport.com/facilities.html http://www.viazul.com/ http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-2215-mercure-playa-de-oro/index.shtml ...

Visiting Gran Canaria City:  Las Palmas Parque de San Telmo JARDIN CANARIO If you ever make it to Las Palmas, make sure have some time for the Jardin Canario. Situated on the outskirts of the city you will be confronted with an incredible landscape setting.  Whichever way you approach, prpare for a dramatic climb, but you do not have to do it all at once.  I started at the top, gradually and gently winding my way downwards, admiring the species of plants as I walked along. At the base, you will be confronted with a dramatic presentation of native plants and other succulents. Here, the walk becomes easier, and you can enjoy the ambience of this tranquil setting.
